RESIDENT ECONOMIC CONSULTANT

The mandate of the Ministry of Works and Transport (MWT) is to provide safe, economical and reliable public infrastructure (buildings, roads, aerodromes etc.), government transport and related services, such as road, rail, water and air safety, that will contribute to economic development of Botswana.
Main Purpose of the Job
To advise on various plans, programmes and strategies relating to the transport sector with a view to creating a sustainable and integrated transport system, which will enhance national competitiveness and promote the socio-economic development of Botswana.

SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW MICRO-ECONOMICS
The position of Senior Research Fellow involves:
- Leading research and consultancy projects in their respective units
- Conducting, as well as capacity building, guidance and mentoring of Research Fellows, Associate Researchers and Assistant Research Fellows in their respective units;
- Working closely with government, international development cooperation partners, the private sector and non-governmental organisations, who are the main clients for BIDPA;
- Promoting and marketing the activities and services of the Institute.

RESEARCH FELLOW-MACRO
The Research Fellow should have at least masters degree in economics with a thorough grounding in economic theory (macroeconomics, microeconomics) and quantitative methods and at least one of the following areas; Public Finance ,International Finance , Development Economics, Corporate Finance and Monetary Policy.
