VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
(CONSULTANT NDP 10 MIDTERM REVIEW)
BIDPA seeks applications from experienced and qualified candidates for the position of Consultant (NDP 10 Midterm Review) at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), Botswana
Main Purpose of the Job:
- To provide extensive review and analysis of economic performance during the first three years of NDP 10 (2009-2011) in the light of the goals, objectives and strategic thrust of NDP 10.

Education & Experience:
- The consultant must have a higher University degree in Economics preferably a PhD and work experience in a developing country with comparable development circumstances to Botswana. Knowledge of the Botswana economy will be an added advantage.
- The consultant should have at least 15 years of post qualification experience in conducting national development planning and reviews. Strong experience in advising governments on NDP formulation and similar assignments is a necessary requirement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of economic forecasting, modeling, Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) as well as economic policy analysis will be an essential requirements
Knowledge, Attributes and Skills:
- The consultant will be expected to be proficient in the use of computers and software and models such as Eviews, Word, and Excel.
- Successful experience in training and coaching on similar areas or activities.
- Good drafting, advocacy and communication skills are necessary.
- Experience in working in middle-income countries will be an asset.
Duration of Assignment:
- Full-time for eight (8) months during April-November 2012.
