Dr Joel Sentsho is a Senior Research Fellow at the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA). Dr Sentsho holds a PhD from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. He has worked for the University of Botswana as a Lecturer for many years – teaching mathematics for Economists, Econometrics, International Economics and Economic Theory. Dr Sentsho has researched extensively in the area of International Trade and Finance. He has published several journal articles and Chapters in Books. He and three other Scholars from the University of Botswana have recently published a Book Entitled
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF BOTSWANA: Facets, policies Problems and Prospects.
Since he joined BIDPA in August, 2005, Dr Joel Sentsho is working on issues of Export and Economic Growth and the link between Export Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategies. He is also doing intensive research on Trade Policy in the SADC region, SADC Economic Integration and the Integration of SADC into the Global trading System as well as the World Trade Organization and the growth of global trade. His research also includes the role of international finance in economic development and the use of the exchange rate as a tool for export competitiveness in developing countries.
