Southern Africa Trade Research Network (SATRN) is designed to assist the SADC member countries to participate more effectively in the global trading system. It aims to mobilize the capacity for research and policy analysis across Southern Africa, and strengthen the links between the SADC researchers and SADC’s policy community.
SATRN is actively assisting SADC countries by providing necessary analytical and technical inputs to their negotiating objectives, supporting their capacity building process, and providing a forum for exchange of views and information.
SATRN currently receives co-funding from IDRC, and also receives event specific funding from the World Bank, UNDP, UNDESA and USAID/RCSA, and benefits from expertise from UNCTAD, World Bank and The World Trade Organisation.
SATRN is administered by the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis which performs secretarial duties.
