Hunhukwe Primary School in the Kgalagadi District held its 2019 Performance Awards ceremony on the 26th of September. With support from the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis, the school awarded excellent performers with incentives to encourage them to aim higher in the coming year and to motivate non-recipients to emulate them.
The ceremony comprised of the following; Graduation of the Reception Class of 2019, Presentation of the Traditional Dance Trophy (Position 2 at the Nationals) and the Performance Awards.
In his welcome remarks, the School Head Mr. O. Marumolo gave a brief overview of the school’s performance. He acknowledged that for years, the school has been producing poor results but vowed to turn the tide against poor performance. He however commended BIDPA employees and the Institute for their continued support.
Over the years, BIDPA employees have been contributing part of their salaries to support the school while the institute augmented the funds to facilitate travel and other logistics.
